Flora and Fauna

 Golden Wheat, 9/27/11 6:10 pm, f/4.5, 1/320, ISO 80, 51.1mm, Canon Powershot SX120 IS
 Duck, 9/27/11 6:11 pm, f/4.5, 1/200, ISO 400, 28.1mm, Canon Powershot SX120 IS
Purple Flower, 9/27/11 8:01 pm, f/2.8, 1/40, ISO 80, 6.0mm, Canon Powershot SX120 IS

I took each of these shots around my house. I just saw the warm sun outside and felt the urge to run outside and snap some shots. It also helped that I had just got my new camera in the mail. I really like this new camera! I really like the last shot of the flower. You can see the fuzzy purple petal.

For this editing I just used the overlay blend. I had to go take the rocks picture just so I could get that texture in there. I used a max on all the pictures except the main one. I did have the color changed on that main picture. I think that's one of the main things that looks unique about it.

I used the overlay blend for this one too. I took the leaves shot specifically for this. I was hoping the black and white picture would stand out a little bit more. If you look really close you can see the Rexburg temple just underneath the eye.

I used the grunge type effect with this. It took me a while to get a hang of it but it worked well. I kinda got hung up on getting the original image unlocked so that I could copy the rocks. I also used the Bevel and Emboss layer style. I think that style is my favorite.

Its been quite a while since I've taken these pictures so I can't totally remember the process that I took to take them. I haven't edited any of them. The first one was when my family and I were looking through a house just for fun. When everyone was walking down the staircase I took the shot. The second one was from the parking lot for Angels Landing in Zion National Park. We got there pretty early in the day so it was a really good shot with all those shadows. The third one I took when I was mountain biking with my cousins. I like it because it shows a lot of depth with the trail going back to the other four riders. The fourth one I took during a planning session on my mission. I like it because of the unique angle and the different objects. The fifth one was taken when my wife I went canoeing with the school by Beaver Dick park. I used the macro focus to get the really close shot.
